Test for Human Papillomavirus discreetly and quickly at home. The HPV self-collection kit for women from Labor Krone contains collection material for a vaginal swab. This is examined in our accredited diagnostic laboratory using PCR analysis for the two most common high-risk variants HPV-16 and HPV-18, as well as for twelve other high-risk variants (31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68). You will receive the lab results within a few days.

HPV are the most common sexually transmitted viruses worldwide. Forty of the 200 known HPV types are able to infect the genitals. The viruses are divided into low-risk and high-risk HPV types based on their likelihood of causing cancer. In the case of a longer-lasting infection with a high-risk HPV type, a malignant tumor can develop (including cervical cancer, cancer of the vagina, penis or anus). High-risk types 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58 are responsible for approximately 90% of all cases of cervical cancer. Low-risk HPV types cause genital warts. A pure HPV infection is often asymptomatic and contagious for a relatively long time, meaning that infection often goes unnoticed.

Test Activation and Lab Result

To activate your self-sampling kit, create a user account on the online portal https://www.selbstlabor.de. In your health area, you can activate your test kit there using the code included in the kit. Without test activation, the sample cannot be assigned to you. As soon as your lab result is available, you can retrieve it securely using another code included in the kit. The lab report contains your individual sample number, which allows us to uniquely identify your sample, your measured values, and a description of whether your measured value is within the reference range or whether a pathogen detection was negative or positive.
